The houses
Fishtown is roughly the triangle formed by the Delaware River, Front Street and York Street, in the River Wards. A long-time working-class neighborhood, it has seen a large influx of new residents and gentrification in recent years.
What to know about pointing here
Buyers often want a wall checked before or after closing. When construction next door exposes or disturbs a party wall, raise it with the builder early. For older brick, ask for mortar softer than the brick, as NPS recommends, rather than a hard cement mix. Pointing usually needs no building permit outside historic-register properties.
